Janice established Southside Pet Hospital in 2008 and Sixteen Mile Veterinary Clinic in 2016 with the assistance and design expertise of her husband Brian. Dr. Honda graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1992 and completed Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She then practiced as an associate veterinarian in Burlington for 15 years before opening Southside. She and Brian are the proud parents of 3 sons: Jack, Ben and Joseph. The family is completed by Stanley the Labradoodle and Stella the Doberman Pinscher. When she’s not watching the boys play hockey Janice can be found in her favourite Pilates studio, hiking with her dogs or trying to improve her golf game.
Dr. Gibbs was born in Chicago and grew up in New York. She has Bachelor's Degrees in biology and theater from Mary Baldwin College in Virginia, and a Masters in Wildlife Science from North Carolina State University. She graduated from the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and moved to Canada to pursue a veterinary career. Diana joined our Southside team in 2015 and our Sixteen Mile team in 2016. She is particularly interested in neurology, behaviour, and nutrition, as well as exotic pets such as birds, lizards, guinea pigs, rabbits, and ferrets. She shares her home with humans Chris and Erin, dog Shenzi and cats Nephythys and Qebui.
Dr. Hughes graduated from McMaster University in 2001 with a (Hons) BSc and the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005. She practiced in Hamilton and Burlington before joining the Southside team in May 2009. In January of 2015 Tracy and Blair welcomed new daughter, Rory. The family is completed by Coconut, a sable Burmese and Huggy Bear, a silver lynx British Shorthair. In her spare time Tracy is an avid hockey player.
Jennifer is a Registered Veterinary Technician and has been with the Southside team since its opening. She graduated from Sheridan College with an Animal Care Certificate in 2003, followed by the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College in 2005. She achieved her RVT status in January 2006. When she is not at work, Jennifer spends her time at home with her husband and two daughters, together with their brown Tabby cat, Iggy, and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Maddie. In her spare time, Jennifer curls and plays soccer.
Michelle is a Veterinary Technician and has been a part of the Southside team since 2011. She also joined our Sixteen Mile team in 2016. She graduated from Northern College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2001 and has worked in shelter, laboratory and clinic settings since. Michelle has a special interest in Surgery and Dentistry and has worked with many different species over the years. Michelle shares her home and her heart with her husband, two sons, and her boisterous Italian Spinone, Willow. The family enjoys summer time at their trailer and any opportunity to travel.
Julia joined the Southside team as a co-op student when she entered the veterinary technician program at Sheridan in 2011. Upon graduation in 2013 she obtained her full Registered Veterinary Technician status and joined our team full time. Julia is the proud owner of our clinic cat Thunder as well as her German Shepherd Ombra and her horse Naughty. In her spare time she enjoys riding Naughty and hiking with Ombra.
Ashlee joined Southside Pet Hospital in August 2014. She is a 2010 graduate of the Veterinary Technician program at St. Clair College. She and her partner, Brennan, are proud pet parents to Linken, a handsome brown Tabby cat, Marv, a busy young Great Dane, and Randy, the Yellow-sided Green-cheeked Conure. When not at work, Ashlee enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially at the cottage in the summertime.
Diane joined our Southside family in 2012. Diane has an extensive background of animal care that includes the breeding and raising of Chameleons and Geckos as well as pet sitting. She and her husband, Mark, are proud parents of daughters Danielle and Sasha as well as cats Elliot and Ernie (the mischievous brothers) and Misty (a recent senior adoptee) who tries to keep the younger ones in line. In her spare time, Diane enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking and kayaking, and expanding her incredible artistic talent creating enamel panels.
Jaimi joined the Southside and Sixteen Mile teams in August of 2016. She graduated from Northern College in 2011 from the Vet Assistant and Animal Grooming program. She is the proud parent of her Sheltie, Harley, and Lab mix, Jade, and a few too many cats. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her husband and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
